35.5 weeks..

So Ryan and I headed to the doctor on Thursday for a routine appt. We had a few questions about how everything was going considering I was sick the week before and had to go in to get more fluids. The doctor said the baby looked great and that she wanted to check me to see if any changes have occurred in my cervix. I am currently 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. We were not expecting that at all so that made it a little more interesting! The doctor wants to see me next Thursday to see if we have any changes. She said that I could have the baby in a week or 5 weeks so it does not mean a whole but still exciting!! Here are a few pictures that our family got from my friend Kristin Davie.

family update!

So it has been awhile since I have written on our family blog. I am almost 34 weeks which is about 8 and half months prego. In the last 5 weeks we have had three baby showers. Ryan's mom threw me an amazing shower in Longview. It was great to see all the family and friends again. I had a shower at school that was thrown by my friends Gina and Kristin that I work with. The staff at my school is amazing! Our last shower was at my mom's house thrown by Deidre and Tamara. It was great to see a bunch of my friends from college and family that weekend. We had great weather which made for an even better day.

The pregnancy is going well, we went on vacation to the cabin this weekend with my family and the Hennigs. While we were there I came down with the flu and was throwing up a lot! The dehydration caused me to start having contractions which was pretty scary so Ryan and I packed up and trekked to the hospital just to make sure everything was okay with the baby. The gave me an IV and pumped my with fluids which made the contractions stop which was good. I am still a little queasy today but feel 10 times better then yesterday.

It looks like this little guy will be here soon and it is pretty unbelieveable to know that I have 6 weeks until I meet him. We hope everyone had an amazing weekend with their families :) here are some pics of the showers. I should have some maternity pics up here soon, my friend Kristin from school is going to be taking some pictures of our family tomorrow so they will be here soon :)

7th month...

Today I had my 28 week appointment, officially in the third trimester! I can not believe that we are already here...The baby is doing well and seems to be growing perfect. He is VERY active know and he seems to be pretty high up near my ribs. At my appointment today I had to get the glucose screening which was a tad boring but I was excited to hear that it was negative and I do not have to go back for the 3 hour screening! I have posted some pics of our family from the last weeks. We had spring break which consisted of finishing up remodeling the bathroom, laying new beauty bark outside, and Greysons baseball camp. We spent Easter on the west side with my family and we got to celebrate mine Ryan and my Dad's birthday. As you can see my belly is very round and making its presence known! I do not think people are guessing now if pregnant...it is pretty obvious! I also put up a picture of Drew's crib bedding. My parents gave us baby furniture as our baby gift and we have the room put together for right now. I hope all of you are doing well and I will talk to you really soon :)

Oh yea...when is spring starting it snowed here yesterday! A LOT! Hopefully this weekend we will get the well deserved sunshine Yakima has been waiting for :)

25 weeks...

So baby McDaniel decided that he was sick of being pretty shy in my belly so the last 3 weeks he has totally popped out! I can not believe the change with in just one month. He is 25 weeks and growing like crazy (at least that is what it feels like), his sweet little touches are a lot bigger and more often during during the day. My parents came over this weekend to help Ryan finish up remodeling the bathroom and it looks amazing. We are trying to get a bunch of things done around our home before the baby gets here so it is just something we can check off the list. I have a doctors appoitment this week so I am excited to set a date for the next ultrasound which she said will happen around 30 weeks. While my parents were here my Mom and I had a little photo shoot outside while the boys were inside working their booties off. Here are some pics of the ever so growing belly...

mid-winter break :)

So Ryan and I have had a busy week. Greyson Ryan and I celebrated the news about having a boy with our families over on the westside. Our good friends the Hennigs coach girls basketball at Kentwood HS and are ranked #3 in the nation, so we went and got to see them play on Valentines day. Ryans Mom and Step-Dad came up to my parents house on Sunday to spend time with us and we were so happy they made the trip from Longview to my parents house.

We had a long mid winter break but we were both pretty eager to head back to work on Wednesday for a nice short week at school. Greyson is doing wonderful in school and is improving everyday on his reading and writing, it is truly amazing how a small child can learn and grow so much in 6 months.

Last night my co-worker Gina had a bunko party at there house which was so much fun. I had never played before and had a great time.

The baby is doing really well, I am 21 weeks and have a doctors appt on Thursday. On Friday I have to go back in for another ultrasound because last time the baby was playing peek-a-boo and wouldn't let us see his face! So we are hoping that he wont be as why on Friday. Last weekend I sprouted a belly! I felt like a littlerally woke up and there he was :) So here aer some new pics of baby McDaniel!

It's a......

BOY!!!!!!!!! So after 2 months of being convinced that we were having a girl yesterdays ultrasound proved other wise. Our little man was not shy about showing off and the second the ultrasound tech touched my belly we knew! Everything is going really well and the baby is growing perfect, we did not get any good face pictures because he was playing peel-a-boo with his hand and would not move them :) we are so happy that we have a new little guy. Greyson is soooooo excited. We came home from the ultrasound and the first thing he asked was "So wheres the baby?" we had to tell him that we had a little while longer until the baby would come home. He can not wait to teach his little brother how to play sports and of course candyland. Ryan Greyson and I are headed to the westside to spend time with out families and celebrate the news. This has been an amazing Valentines day and I could not have asked for anything better!

18 weeks

Hi Everyone! It is been awhile since I updated this so here we go. Last week I had a huge surprise when Deidre came to my school to visit. She stayed for dinner but had to back to Ellensburg because they have started there 6 am morning practices. This is her last year and I am sure she will be excited when she does her last 6am. We picked up Greyson on Friday and headed to the cabin. We were there Friday night and got to spend some good quality time with my parent Joe and Deidre. We spent the Superbowl at the Froula's house and ate WAY to much! It was an exciting game even if you didn't really care who won. We are headed to a school skating party tonight so that should be interesting for our whole family :) I put up some pics of the growing belly...Happy Monday :)

Ryan and I are counting down the days until we find out what the sex of the baby is....Feb 13th could not come soon enough :)

16 weeks...

So I had my 16 week doctors apptoinment yesterday and everything looks great. Ryan and I scheduled our next ultrasound for Feb 13th to find out what sex the baby is! It is going to be a wonderful Valentines day gift. I think I felt the baby move today but I am not sure what it is supposed to feel like. I kind of felt like a little flutter in my lower left ab under my belly button and it was never really anything I have ever felt before. I immediately turned the TV off (not sure why it isn't like I can hear it moving) and waited to see if I could feel it again. I yelled to Ryan and Greyson and they came running downstaris. I told them that I think I felt the baby move and it felt like a bee buzzing, Greyson looked at me and said "um Darcy there are no bees in there just a baby" (he gave me the DUH! face). That was about an hour ago and I have not really felt it again but I am going to be more aware of that feeling to se if I have it again.

I have started my 3rd and 4th class of my online masters. You are only supposed to take one at a time but since the baby is coming in July and I want to be higher on the pay scale next year I am taking double the courses to get done sooner. It has been a lot more work then I thought. I am spending my entire prep period at school trying to keep the two classes in order and not confusing them. I will be so happy once it is all over but it is a little stressful right now.

This was our week with Greyson and it was wonderful, we are so blessed to be on a week on week off schedule with him. He is so excited about the baby, he carries a picture of my niece baby Maggie in his backpack and tells everyone that he is going to have a baby like this one very soon. Well I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful week....YIPPEE for FRIDAY!

Monday, January 12, 2009

So we started our first week of school with a 2 hour delay last Monday for snow...and 2 days later it was all gone! That's when all of the flooding occurred on the west side and I am grateful that all our family and friends made it through that scary time safely. The last few weeks our house has had a couple expensive hiccups and we are on our way to fixing them. The water line from our house to the road burst so we had to pay a pretty penny to fix that. Then our vent to our dryer wasn't working so by the man power of my Dad and Ryan they did some home repair themselves and our dryer is now back to only needing one cycle to dry our clothes!!!!!!!!(it is the little things in life that can make you so happy)We had a busy weekend with basketball games and activities at Davis. We fit in an ultrasound with my cousin Judye on Saturday night, she is a doctor here in Yakima and she let us come in and watch the baby move and wiggle for about an hour. The last time we saw that baby it was only 5 weeks and looked like a circle. Now it looks like a baby!! Arms and legs moving around like crazy. I was so happy to see that the baby is growing fast and looking great. Well I have a doctors appointment on the 21st so that will be the next big thing in baby's life. I hope everyone is doing well and staying dry....xoxo

Here is a side belly shot at 15 weeks :)-and yes that is what I wore to school today...I LOVE being a PE teacher!

These are pictures of the newest member of our family Sammie our kitten. It was one of Greyson's Christmas presents and boy does he love her! He almost cried the other day when we had to go to school and leave Sammie at home. She has had a little rough start to her life but with some love and care we are hoping she we will get through her first kitten cold and back to normal.

So it is Sunday night...the last night of Christmas Break so our family is headed back to school tomorrow. We had a very busy 2 weeks with trips to Milton, Longview, Olympia and Roslyn. We had a great time visiting family for the holidays and got to spend 4 days at the cabin for new years. My parents bought a little snowmobile and Greyson had a blast riding something his size. We got to spend a lot of time with my new niece Maggie, she is 6 weeks old and is such a cutie! I am so excited to experience everything that Jereme and Tamara are with our little one in July. Baby is 14 weeks old this week and is the size of a lemon (That is what the books say) No belly yet but I promise to post picks when something starts sprouting out. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best this 2009 year...hugs and kisses!! mama McDaniel :)
